Welcome Linda

EJK would like to introduce Linda Leigh as the newest member of our team. With 20+ years of administrative experience, Linda will be the friendly voice you hear on the phone, and our most organized staff in the office. She’s already waiting to compile your tax documents for this season! Learn more about Linda, and help us welcome her to the family next time you drop by the office. Oh, and Miya’s still on board—she’s now a full-time account manager. Rock on!

And the winner is…EJ Kim!

EJK Accounting is proud of EJ Kim for winning the Golden Boot Award at tSB's annual Luau.EJK Accounting was flattered to have our very own president be honored with the Golden Boot Award at the tSB Luau last Sunday.  Between rocking out to Kore Ionz at Nectar Lounge, and enjoying Pai’s food truck, EJ was pleasantly surprised when they announced her name along with two other tSB rock stars as winners of this year’s award. EJ was specifically cited for her dedication to the tSB Board of Directors, and her support in youth activities, fundraising, and sponsorship. Congratulations to EJ, and a shout out to the Service Board for your amazing programs!

New Ordinance: Seattle Paid Sick leave

Learn about City of Seattle's new ordinance for sick and safe time.As of September 1, 2012, the City of Seattle will require employers to offer paid sick and safe time to their employees. Here’s what you need to know:

  • All businesses with 5+ employees are required to track employee hours worked, and sick and safe time accrued and used.
  • Sick and safe time includes leave for mental or physical illness, the need to care for a family member, and other reasons (more details here).
  • Required accrual rates are based on the number of employees per business.  See requirements here.
