EJ Kim | Founder (Transitioning)

EJ Kim EJ Kim brings over 40 years of experience in accounting, tax, and financial management services. She founded EJK Accounting & Tax in 2003 with the vision of delivering high-quality, cost-effective accounting services to both nonprofit organizations and for-profit businesses across the Pacific Northwest.

Before establishing her own firm, EJ worked as a financial analyst for a NYSE-traded company and later served as managing partner and financial accountant at a Seattle tax and accounting firm. Her decades of leadership and technical expertise have made her a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues alike.

Now semi-retired, EJ is stepping back from her day-to-day role as partner but will continue to be involved in the business, providing guidance and support during the transition. Her ongoing presence ensures continuity for clients and the team, while also allowing her to enjoy her well-earned retirement.

Miya Forrest | Non-Profit Supervisor

Miya joined EJK in 2010 and currently works exclusively with remote clients. She has an extensive background in non-profit operations and accounting, and enjoys developing and implementing new accounting systems and procedures for her clients. Miya’s personal interest in food, means that she enjoys both working with, and sampling products for our restaurant industry clients. Miya has her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, and is a proud mother of two.

Annie Chiang | Senior Tax Accountant

Annie holds a B.A in Accounting and Philosophy from Seattle University and a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Washington. Beyond her strong foundation in accounting and business, Annie is passionate about exploring the intersection of finance, ethics, and philosophy. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her pets, which help her maintain a balanced perspective. Annie’s long-term vision is to become a trusted business, philosophical, and ethical consultant, offering clients advice that is not only technically sound but also thoughtful, genuine, and meaningful.
